Transdermal Magnesium Therapy is one of the Mineral Therapy courses developed by Pure Nature Cures. Like with all Mineral Therapies, Transdermal Magnesium Therapy is based on the ability of the skin to absorb minute particles – in this case, magnesium ions from the salts used in the treatments. The salts can include magnesium chloride, magnesium sulphate or Dead Sea salt.
What does it involve?
Transdermal Magnesium Therapy involves a complex of mostly home-based treatments, such as magnesium baths, foot baths, compresses, massage, applying magnesium oil by hand and spraying it all over the body. Local applications of magnesium wraps using far infrared can also be safely done at home.
However, we also train therapists in Transdermal Magnesium Therapy treatments. A therapist could suggest a course of magnesium massage treatments to the client at their clinic, while at the same time, the client can do some of the treatments (baths, foot baths, compresses) at home throughout the course. This will help to achieve a faster result with much more impact than simply a session of magnesium massage once or twice a week.

What experts say about transdermal magnesium therapy
Here is what Dr Mark Sircus says about transdermal methods of application: “Drugs enter different layers of skin via intramuscular, subcutaneous, or transdermal delivery methods. The most common ways to administer drugs are oral (swallowing an aspirin tablet), intramuscular (getting a flu shot in an arm muscle), subcutaneous (injecting insulin just under the skin), intravenous (receiving medicines through a vein), or transdermal (wearing a skin patch).
It is not a surprise, when you consider the large surface area of the skin, that when you apply a substance to the entire body, rapid absorption and resultant effect are sufficient to put the transdermal administration on par with or even ahead of other methods of administering drugs. ”
He then continues: “Medicines taken by mouth (oral) pass through the liver before they are absorbed into the bloodstream. Transdermal application bypasses the liver, entering the tissues and blood more directly. ” Source
